This cake is very well known and popular in Eastern Europe, over there it's called "Sharlotka".
Ingredients:
4 medium apples, peeled and cut into 1,5-2 cm cubs
1 cup of self rasing flour
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
a bit of milk
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Prepare a round cake tin: line it with baking paper
In a large bowl beat eggs and sugar until smooth and creamy, add flour and mix well. Add a bit of milk to make the dough a bit liquidy.
Pour a bit of the dough into the cake tin, than spread the apple pieces evenly on top and cover the apples with leftovers of the dough.
Pop the cake tin into the oven and cook for 40-60 minute (depends on your oven) or until golden on top.
Tips:
I use low-fat milk, this way it's even healthier.
Serve with custard or cream, or by itself.
It's quite easy to make, and taste very yummy! Especially with custard :) You should try it!
